Joy and Mat's Fall New England Wedding

At the bride's parents' house, it was dark, cold, and pouring.  In the next town over, at the groom's mother's house, it was sunny and bright. The church was halfway between, and we had to make a decision about first look.  We had an indoor option, but when a couple chooses a fall wedding date, they do so in hopes of some spectacular foliage.

Joy was radiant as she got ready.  She kept her calm, even though I know that she was so disappointed that the family portraits would need to be indoors.

Mathew and his family had a chance to get outside for a few photos together.

For the first look, we decided to go for it--- outside.  It was cold and windy, but we found a space under some tree cover that would allow us to stay dry if it started up again, and would also afford them some privacy for their first look.

The weather held off, and we had an emotional first look.

The ceremony was at Joy's childhood church, United Methodist Church of Westford.  It was a sentimental ceremony, where they were surrounded by friends and family who shed tears of joy.

When the ceremony was over, we were supposed to head outside for family formals. It was raining.  I started to set up my gear inside, when someone popped their head in to tell me that the sun was out.  We made a run for it, and got our family portraits and bride and groom portraits.  That late day sun popped through yellow trees and created magic.

The reception was held at the First Parish Church in Westford.  The night was filled with laughs and smiles on the dance floor.

Joy and Mat, I wish you the best!  Your wedding was so much fun. May that fun carry over into married life every day!
